I've always like these rugs and theres not much storage at the new yard so it would make sense to have one in that respect, I see on Equestrian clearance weatherbeeta are doing something similar for this year. Unfortunately I sold allot of my rugs for Oz so just have a lightweight and a medium weight that fit Leonard so would have spares if it got saturated. So would it be worth splashing out or just get a cheaper HW?

Have never used a Duo, but have the Rambo full neck and its pretty darn good imo. They are expensive, but don't slip, rub or leak in my experience. Will be buying a new one this winter for my boy, who has got to fat for his 6'3"

I have a duo and love it.. but I know some say depends on the shape of your horse with regards to the fit. If you already have Rambo rugs and they are a good fit, I would recommend.

Sorry, forgot to add.. all my Rambo's generally last me 6 years + so they may be expensive to buy, but I find they outlast all the others and end up being cheaper in the long run

Def worth the cash. I have one with the permanent neck attached and it's great. Personally I would not go for the slightly cheaper Weatherbeeta alternative, I bought one for my pony (not with a neck) but the lining slips back and it just does not do as well as the Rambos. you get what you pay for in my opinion!

This winter will be my third season with a rambo due, and it is fantastic, so much easier - he has actually been wearing the outer layer quite a bit this summer with the rain and the cold overnight! I have had to replace the hood, but only because one of the other horses decided it tasted nice, but managed to get that for £45 - so I would always get the one with the detachable neck. Rambo now do different weigh liners as well which I thought was a really good idea.

I think they are definitely worth the money. it fits my mare very well and doesn't move at all on her. it's a very flexible rug with all the liners as well- i use them under stable rugs. it also seems to be very breathable- she has never been sweaty underneath it, or cold even though I have expected her to be when I have got the weather wrong. I also have used the outer shell a lot this summer.
Personally, i wouldn't buy a weatherbeeta T/O rug after several major leaks in new rugs in the past.

Seems like a good option then, its good to know they'll last a few years, will look for the one with the detachable neck thanks guys x

Not worth the price IMO. I got the correct size for my horse however they seem to come up short. Also, the neck cover is dreadful - its tiny, not nearly long enough or wide enough and thats on a very slim TB x. It wouldnt even meet on my native. The neck cover attachments have ripped numerous times to the point I just leave it off nowadays. The outer rug has started to leak in the winter sometimes.

The idea is excellent however as a first time buyer of a Rambo I expected basically an amazing rug. It isnt. The only thing good about it just now is I can use the outer during wet summer nights. Id definately definately buy the weatherbeeta version having had Oricans and Arions before which are brilliant. In fact, I may well sell my Rambo Duo second hand and buy the Tristar instead. BTW, I did complain to Horseware just in case my rug was particularily faulty, they never replied.
