Just wondering if anybody has ever sent off one of the guarantee cards that comes with a Rambo Rug? The guarantee card states that your rug will remain waterproof and breathable for a minimum of 3 years but I have a couple of Rambo's that are heading on for 15 years old and are still as good as new! ( They are washed and re-proofed every year if used) The only thing I find that goes is the velco at the front but that is easily replaced.

Personally I don't think I will bother but have any of you claimed on a guarantee?

No, i didn't when I bought my Duo in September. I did keep the receipt though and think I would return it to the shop if it leaked, i'm sure they would contact Horseware for me

Dont bet on it!!!

I tried as my first duo leaked and had a devil of a job getting anything done at all!!

I had to stand and make a fuss in a shop full of people until they changed it for me.....

Sending back to rambo is up to you and if they dont find that it leaks they charge you for all the postage etc!!!

I think that your contract is with the shop though as you bought it from them..... but I may be wrong

You are correct! Under the sale of goods act the product must be suitable so a rug that leaks isn't! Your contract IS with the shop and it is their responsibilty to get it sorted. If they take your rug then they should provide you with either a replacement of 'similar' quality or loan you a rug while yours is repaired/inspected.

Lots of shops tell you that you have to contact the manufacturer but this is incorrect. If Rambo are offering a 3 year guarantee then I would expect the rug to be OK for the full 3 years and if it does leak in that time I would return it to the shop with the receipt or some proof of purchase.

Interesting............. i suppose it might depend on your tack shop. Mine is brilliant and will exchange/replace anything if the customer is not happy

I sent in my guarantee for my duo and i did contact them about the fillet string as the clip had become welded closed after being used for a few months.
They did tell me that those kind of things were not covered in the guarantee but they would replace the part anyway.

The only reason i was bothered was because my horse was unexpectedly in foal and as i didnt know when he would arrive i needed to remove it.

You should try it from the shops side - they normally lose out, not the manufacturer
