Anyone had experiences of this...? My horse's bum sticks out of every rug I have for him....either they are massive at the front and hang down below his knees or they ride high on his back end which allows all the rain and wind to blow on his tail :0(
These rugs seem quite expensive and pretty scarse.....just wondering peoples views and if anyone knows a cheap website where I can find a bargin...?

im an avid horseware rug buyer

so they're pretty good fit all round i think. and soo light ! love them haha..

i love them too...they are fab arent they - thats why I love the fact they have made one for quarters horse but they seem to be so rare and v.expensive.....

Absolutely no good whatsoever for Quarter Horses! Don't touch one with a barge pole! I bought a couple of AQHA Rambos for two of my horses and they are rubbish. They don't fit properly, they are too short on the belly, then are thin and flimsy, they rip easily ... need I go on? Go for a proper Rambo, don't be fooled into thinking these Rambo ones are any good whatsoever for QHs. They might be okay for chunky necked little ponies, but not our guys. All of my horses are in Rambos (classics or wugs) and Fals. Fals are by far the best fit for my cattle stock QHs.

BTW; Rambo no longer has AQHA status, it moved to Weatherbeeta last year, so if you are seeing them they must be old stock.

Agree with Tia - the one I bought fits my comparatively dainty QH like a mini skirt, and for a MW t/o it is very thin.
They are still selling the AQHA rugs in the UK, but would agree they're not worth the money altho the nylon sheets are useful for shows etc (esp as I see you have a palomino!) and there are not many makes of nylon sheet available in the UK.
Mark Todd turnouts fit madam quite well, although as I have said in another post she took hers off today! I also like the Amigo lightweights, and use them as show waterproofs and to keep grey madam clean the night before a show.
Did have a Rhino t/o which was good but it got stolen...

Actually yes, I have about 5 Amigos, although I bought the heavyweight ones, and I have some of my youngsters in them (sorry had forgotten about them) and they do work pretty well. They are a nice fit and have good fill. I bought 2 mediumweight ones previously but they got trashed (ripped to shreds) within 3 days, so had to go out and replace with the H/W ones. The youngsters that I have in the Amigos have been wearing them for about 2 months now and although they do have scratches on them, they haven't actually ripped. They won't last another winter, but that is okay because they were very cheap relative to Rambo classics.

i really like these rugs, got an indoor and an outdoor and they are the only ones that fit my huuuge QH properly. the other QH's do well in Fal rugs, so depends on the build of the horse. i bought mine from Rhinestone clothing at one of the shows - not sure if they are still doing them.

blimey thanks for all the info peeps...I didnt think this thread was going to take off so thanks for that...
Ive got my eye on a HW classic on ebay at the moment actually...I remember I do have a light weight amigo which does see to fit well although because of his JLO he does have issues....as you all know...!!
Ill keep my eye out for the classics and see if there are any bargins around....
thanks peeps :0)
