My lorry has quite a steep ramp compared to other lorries on our yard. Is there any way I can have this adjusted or changed and will it be expensive, it does not bother some horses but youngsters dont seem to like it.

Could anyone recommend someone locally who could give me a quote I am based in cheshire

We had the same problem and just added some feet on to the bottom of the ramp. You can get these from Foxlea? horsebox parts

Am not certain but I can't picture how you would be able adjust this. Do you not have a raised area like a kerb that you can back the lorry up to when you load?

It may be that your lorry was a conversion from a flat bed lorry where they retained the origional floor and built the container over it. It could also be that the container is not as high as normal so therefore the ramp is shorter and therefore at a steeper incline when you load your horse.

Your easiest solution is to park it in a dip or the bottom of a slope.

Alternatively lower the ramp hingle and have a step from the top of the ramp in to the lorry or add ramp stops as suggested above.

We used to put a fairly thick piece of wood underneath the existing feet of my ramp, about 2" thick which made just enough difference for a horse who found it just a bit too steep for him.
