Horrid horse. Took off stable rug this morning from 4yo GREY (of course!) gelding - and found an almost entire pile of droppings up inside the rug, right up near his hip/pelvis. And of course, smeared everywhere and caked on - I've pressure washed it, picked at it, scrubbed at it - he smells rancid and looks terribly proud of himself.

Vile creature - how on earth do they manage these things?!

Only the best horses cover themselves in poo ;)

This was my mare at stupidoclock on the morning of her BE debut. She was spotless the night before.

All of these horses are very speshal and should be cherished by their lucky owners

That's the problem with greys! As Obie's only got a fleece on at the moment during the day (he's in the field from 4 in the afternoon and I bring him in at 9 in the morning) the poo he lays down in seeps through his fleece.
Eww!

I think its something greys are just born knowing how to do.

I once left my grey cob immaculate in his stable for less than a nanosecond (on a show morning of course) in that time he managed not only to poo but also to have performed somesort of hand(hoof?)stand as the poo was smeared over his head including his ears and poll area.
Got to love them really.

Haha love greys!! I came down to mine this morning to find poo smeared all over one side of his face and all over his eye and everything.... thing is it was on the side I didnt see as i walked over this morning and I always give him a good face rub and cuddle every morning so i stuck my face and hands all in it before recoiling in disgust and making him run to the back of the stable in shock (he isnt used to me moving so fast around him - I swear he thinks its perfume!)

That sounds very familiar!

He always looks so terribly proud to show off what he has managed to attach to his head by the morning.... kisses mummy!!

I go down late at night to do a final check of count legs etc, but that includes don gloves and skip out his stable in an effort to keep it reasonably sanitised by the morning, strangely stable is always tidy and banks intact etc - god knows how he does it!
