My husband was telling me that when he walked the dog he came across a great bridlepath that you get to by going through the village (we've not lived here long)
Anyway to get on said bridlepath you have to go past a load of houses and he asked me "when you get your horse and it poo's in front of peoples houses what will you do?" i said i had'nt thought about it to be honest and maybe he would have to follow behind with a shovel

So what do you do?!

most people are happy to have it to stick on their roses or tomatoes or in their compost bin! i don't worry about it tbh.
i have heard of motorbike riders crashing after hitting a patch of dung while going around a corner, so i try not to let my horses poo on corners of roads!

we live in a village ,most people are ok occasionally if its right outside someones door i would go back and clear it up . makes life easier and youll soon get to know people and their reaction

Luckily the villages I hack through have some good country people living there and they are all ok - I have been riding through the villages for 30 years and I have never had anyone get cross when my horse has left a deposit outside their house. I guess I'm quite lucky!
Good point about the motorcyclists though Kerilli!

I've not had anyone complain about horse poo by their house, but we are in a very country village. I will pick it up if it is outside my YO's house, next to the field, as they are very old and I don't want them to try to clean it up themselves or not let me use the fields as I make a mess.

I've never known anyone be bothered in our village (and with the size of the village, and the moaning old git who hangs out at the green, we would hear about it

) So I don't worry. My friends have a hunting/racing yard in the same village so there's plenty of horses about. I don't think people mind.
