Random eye problem

On Sunday I noticed my dog had a gunky eye, thick yellowish green discharge so cleaned it up with hot water then wiped over with a cold teabag and booked vet appointment for yesterday evening. Yesterday daytime both eyes have lots of discharge coming from them, got in the car to go to vets but got stuck in traffic and missed appointment so had to re-book for this afternoon. However today both eyes are pretty much back to normal, conjunctiva is nice pink colour with very little discharge - do you think he still needs to go to the vet? Obviously my dogs welfare is paramount but if he doesn't need to go then I would rather not eat into my overdraft anymore!

I would still go, just for peace of mind, you can never be too careful with eyes. Any change in their appearance/discharge needs investigating

Yep I would still go, as blazing saddles says you can never be too careful with eyes. A few of us have had dogs who have had to have an eye removed after quite a simple ailment.

OMG MM!! Ok definitely going to the vet! Wouldn't want him to lose an eye (they're his redeeming feature!)

Sorry didn't mean to scare you. I'm sure he will be fine, was just trying to point out that its best to be safe. He has the most amazing eyes .
