My fridge freezer has just broken. Only 2 yrs old. Waranty ran out after a year - typical.

This is the 3rd fridge freezer we've had in 7yrs and OK, we broke the 2nd one ourselves.

The freezer is working fine but the fridge just isn't on at all and everything has gone mouldy

So question is:
Should I buy the most expensive one I can afford, with no extended warranty?

or

another crap one like this with a very long warranty?

My Dad's fridge has lasted 25yrs so far, so 7yrs isn't too much to ask is it?

Will see if I can get someone out to repair, but don't hold out much hope as this modern stuff doesn't seem worth repairing either.

Thanks

We had a bosch fridge freezer and it lasted 6 years no probs (possibly longer but we left it in the house when we moved). Cost us maybe £350? Buy a decent make (i.e. German) and it should last.

Buy the warranty seperate to the fridge. If you do a google search it works out at least half the price of buying it with the machine

Thanks for the tips

I would rather have a seperate fridge and freezer but we haven't got the room.

Is it possible to buy seperates that can be stacked on top of each other?

Will defo look at buying the warranty seperately - didn't know you could.

I have tried to post once already!!!!!!! So if this comes up twice I apologise!

I have the Bosch stackables! Fridge and freezer. I bought them because I knew we would be moving. They give a good size fridge and freezer unless you have loads of children! They are well designed and the only downside is that you have to take the fridge down (we have it on top) if you want to clean between the two (it does get a bit unhygienic!).

Any of the german makes seem to be very well designed.
