Oh ok, he's not a poncy dressage pony by any stretch of the imagination :D He's not even got matchy matchy bandages on, but I made dafthoss take some photos of him in his new dressage saddle before we went for a hack :D

If I'm honest, he spent most of his time "yaking" but I'll forgive him since my field is a bit horrible, he's hardly been schooled in months, his topline has suffered from that, and I only gave him 10 minutes to ponce about before we went out...

On the upside, I think he's looking quite trim, despite the hairyness... Oh well, apologies for the random pointless thread :o No food on offer as I've traumatised myself by how lardy I look in the photos, so er... I could grill a cat if anyone really wants something?

Looking a great weight to be honest!! If my fella was like that I'd be chuffed to bits!
And is that your big fella I see hiding behind the stables! :P
 
aw you look great togeather, what a gorgeous pony!! i'll give the grilled cat a miss, unless your sticking my little minx on the bbq when he's whining at four in the morn!!

Optional, really. She's very, very hairy, so unless you like a bit of stringyness in your snacks, I'd recommend it...

Thanks Paris and Lintel - yes that's the cob - he totally wasn't wandering round the field fully tacked up :eek:
 
I think he's a beauty! Love highlands. Hairys can do dressage, heres a snippet of my hairy fell doing his thing (they can give the WBs a serious amount of competition :) )

You don't look lardy. Can sympathise though as I have a video of me having a ride on my own Highland Pony Kippen and no one is allowed to see it because I look FAT. So does Kippen. It's from last year when I visited him at his retirement farm.

What is really amazing is the condition of your fields. Up here in the land of mud we would kill for a field you could school in at this time of year.

Doesn't it rain 24/7 where you live.

No lardiness to be seen in the photos from anyone. And he is just beautiful, stunning and very sweet looking
 
Lovely! Like the nice active hind leg in the second picture.

And you are closer to being matchy matchy than I ever am, your t-shirt and saddle cloth match. Last night I was rocking the clashy clashy look with brown saddle cloth, grey jodhs, and green coat......

How about deep frying the cat? Tasty!

Aww, videos / photos can be deceptive... Please don't tell me I'm not too lardy or I will go and eat my weight in junk food - I'm trying to exercise some restraint here :D

Apparently not while these photos were taken :p I did leave some stunning hoof prints on one side of the field :cool: A couple more weeks and I think it will be "good" to ride on - but I thought I'd risk it for 10 mins and a few photos :o

Yea I liked that too - he can work from behind :D I confess, unless I have the camera out I look like I dressed in the dark. In an asylum :cool:

Thanks :D Do you want him? I threatened to sell him for dog meat yesterday and would definitely have considered any offers this afternoon :cool: :D

He was really good bless him. Just tipped the first (unluckily) in the meter and other wise jumped a really nice round.

If you were eating mud you had better come back the weekend after next to try again and then I can come too :D

Haha thanks but it's not something I plan on repeating :eek: We were talking about going back in a couple of months when F's a bit fitter etc - I don't think mother dearest would consent to my going back up there so soon (we left at 8am, got back at 4:30pm - she's helpful enough to come with, I shouldn't abuse her good nature :p).

That's ages away. Come to Isleham for the hunter trial on the 25th. I'm going whether I've managed to go schooling first or not!

I didn't take any vid/photos but the event photographer was there so hopefully he got a couple of us. Will keep an eye open for them as I'm pretty keen to see what I was up to. I really think I need some jumping lessons! I felt like I was riding like a sack of the proverbial!

That'd be a no to Isleham - after today I don't rate my chances of staying on round a dressage test let alone a hunter trial :eek: :D

Ahhh you must link us to them - I'm sure he looks fab :D And I strongly suspect you won't resemble a sack of... :D
