As most of you know, I do not live on the Sceptred (Septic?) Isle that is the UK, thusly I purchase many things online. Although I gnash my teeth at postage costs it still usually works out cheaper and easier than trying to buy anything here.

Soo, today I am trying to buy another Dr Cook beta bridle for Ari and decide to do a shopping comparison.

Do you know it is 15€ cheaper (that's two bags of feed) to buy said item, plus some scissor snaps and have it shipped from the good ole' US of A than to buy it from the UK? Incredible!

That's because the good old royal mail charge at least 2x and, depending on the weight, 8x as much as the US mail service. Its particularly crazy if an item weighs over 2kg which many horse items do

Our small business has lost so many orders over the years because the Americans can't believe how much we would charge them for shipping. I now email a link to the postage calculator on the royal mail website and tell them how much the item weighs! At least then they can see I'm not making a packet on the postage!

I feel your pain. We live in MAINLAND scotland, but because I have an IV postcode, couriers delight in doubling, trebling and quadrupling charges and adding extra days onto promised delivery as they label us Highlands and Islands. I live in neither Highlands, nor fecking Islands, I live in MORAY.

I have been quoted £30 delivery for a pair of JODS! before now. and NO ONE could possibly manage next day delivery!

Grrrrrrrr

Pain in the bum isn't it? Not all IV codes are included though.
We had an argument over this with a delivery company when we sent MIL flowers. They delivered 2 days late and said they couldn't do next day because she was in an IV postcode. They were wrong, she doesn't have one of the 'special' ones listed on their site so we didn't pay!
