Ok been pondering this for a while bear with me!

if horses grow their coats in regard to light not temp, if you kept a horse in the light all the time, using artificial light when its dark etc and regardless of temp didnt rug it, would it grow a winter coat?

I believe it would grow one -just not as thick and woolly as normal.

Hmm. Good question! I suppose you'd have to think about how accurately you could replicate the sunlight. And if a lack of darkness might have other, adverse effects on the horses. Anyone need a thesis topic?
