what way round do you put a hanging cheek i always thought you put the skinny bit (for want of a better phrase!

) to the cheek pieces and the reins to the bigger ring, but i have seen photos fo the bit the other way up

so which way is right or does it not matter?

You put the reins to the bigger ring on the bit and the smaller rings to the cheekpieces, it shouldn't be worn in any other way!

The small ring is what attachs the bit to the bridle with the large ring either side of the month.
A girl I new had it in upside down once, all it would do is possible give a more leverage action, like a dutch gag or american gag does. It should be small ring on top though.

Gosh, it's as you said! Well, I would never have even consider putting the cheek pieces on the big round part of it.

You are right, the smaller rings go to the cheek pieces and the reins to the bigger.

My friend took her Coloured in-hand showing with her hanging cheek upside down a couple of years ago - she simply did not know at the time it was the wrong way round. I only know as I saw the pro pics she bought of him in her house and mentioned it!!
