I am pig sick of a local owner putting her shettie and her donkey into fields with no supplementary feed or water. So they break out, average once a week. My two have two hard feeds and a bale of hay between them a day, these poor boys get what is in the field. So Moon and Tic Tac are out on the roads, an accident waiting to happen. Never mind the animal welfare implications. I'm a former RSPCA inspector, and have gone through the channels I can. But this is rural France. And NO I am NOT RESPONSIBLE for catching them, whatever the owner may think. Rehome the poor boys. ? Rant over x

Personally I'd go and speak to the Maire. Village mayor's here have to attend traffic accidents etc, arrange for road clearance actions, and ensure all the appropriate authorities are notified. Plus of course authenticate the identity of dead bodies. Most people take notice of the mayor's recommendations.

Just because they escape doesnt always mean its because they are hungry. Some ponies are just escape artists - I have one that is insistent in getting out of any field whether full of lush grass or not!! Its a very annoying habit.
Are these 2 underweight?
