Just a miniature rant really, I thought I'd finally found a buyer for my mare, which was hard considering what the mare is like, cribs etc. She was only cheap as I was looking for a nice home more than making money. Thought I'd found someone who really liked her blah blah, just they didn't have the money there and then and could I wait a week. I thought that was strange, why horse shop if you haven't the money. And the mare is so cheap if you haven't got that then you really shouldn't have a horse just in case of vet bills etc but I waited, a week turned into two weeks which turned into a month which turned into six weeks. I had a text this morning, I can't have the horse now cos I haven't got the time or the money. To say I was fuming would be an understatement. I haven't been looking for another buyer because I didn't want to sell the horse from under the girl. Now I'm still stuck with the mare.

Why why why do people mess you around!! Too much head work!

I'm afraid that when you are selling a horse, you cannot believe anything until you have the cash in your hands, and the horse has gone. especially as this girl sounded risky ??

I understand that now, so frustrating. First of all she asked if she could give half the money now and half later. I was thinking does she think I'm that naive! I don't mean to sound horrid, but she seemed full of smoke. Couldn't put a head collar on tidy but apparently breaks in new horses every day etc.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Perhaps you should have accepted 50% of the purchase price as a non refundable deposit, with the balance to be paid in 7 days.

Horserider, she didn't even have half the money to give me as a deposit. She wanted to pay half, take the horse and then when she gathers up the rest of the money give it to me then.

Personally I think your horses has had a lucky escape, she doesn't sound like the sort of person I would consider a 'nice home'.
Hopefully you'll find someone more suited soon :)

Crikey, yes, your mare has had a lucky escape.

Don't think if she needed a vet, the buyer would get a half price, pay later deal there either.

Perhaps its a case of the old saying 'If wishes were horses....'
