Right, I am not going to name the centre that did this, but some of you may also have been caught out/or not but if you want to know who it was, PM me

Anyway. A friend of mine from the yard asked me on Thursday if I wanted to go with her to some UNaffiliated showjumping. I accepted and offered to give her a lift in my trailer but she had booked transport and payed (cancellation would be 50%anyway!) so thought I would go with her.
So we got ready and left and were there in good time for when it said our class would start on the schedule (on the internet and on papaer!).
As we arrived, we thought there was an awful lot of poeple there for an UNAF and as we looked on the sign that had the dates it had AFFILIATED Sjing. Great.
So said friend is a lot older than me and spent all night worrying and it was too big for her to enter. I asked to go as a junior which was all fine until they asked how big pony was. Couldn't do it on a ticket, or go HC because he was not a horse. So a wasted journey. We then went back to lorry and had a chat with some poeple and decided to go back and ask for something as compensation - they had stated on programme that it was UNAF.

So we then went back and asked them and they said we could have a free round at the next UNAF. We thought okay. But then we remembered that friend had spent £60 on transport for nothing so was asked if we could have any more entries/payment for transport/entry to their ODE or to go round their xc course. NO was then answer, so thats £60 down the pan and not ebcause it was our fault - it was theirs!
They also said that other poeple had made the same mistake - did that not tell them something?

Their arguement was it said on programme to call a day before to see if the event was still on and we accepted this. Friend went over the programme last night and it does not say this!

Is she being inreasonable asking for one of these things in compensation??

Sorry for such a long one but we are rather annoyed!

I would certainly push for compensation, you have the schedule and if it clearly states that it was UNAF and then thay had changed it they should compensate.

I would write to them if i were you and follow this up, keep receipts from the hire of the horse box and also a copy of the schedule with parts highlighted include copies of this in your letter to them.

Be polite in your request but also make sure that what they had done is there fault and not yours.
