Suffolk bloody Council have decided, in their wisdom, to fence off what looks to me like almost all of the open ground at Knettishall Country Park so their ponies can graze it all at once

This basically leaves no open ground to walk over, which is a huge pain as this is the best spot we have for training

Now Henry will have to be on the lead loads more. I don't know why they don't just tarmac all the paths, open a burger stand and turn it into a theme park.

I am SO peeved right now

You have my sympathy, it is difficult when you have had a good place to train and walk your dogs on and it then is made unavailable. On the fields opposite my house, leading to a forest area, there has been plans on and off for the last few years now, about building houses on it and probably a large road splitting the fields in two, possibly leading to a new shopping centre. As if that was not enough, if they do build the shopping centre, there is also plans on making the small cul-de-sac, sort of at the right of my house and leading to a wooded area, a lot bigger and opening it up for through traffic, maybe even with buses and all...

This far the plans have always halted on something, but I don't doubt that they will build something sooner or later, the local authority have already bought up most of the small horse yards around here, so most of it is their land.

Yeah, but be thankful, as Finny mentioned, we had something similar, where we used to live, even though it was an estate, it was in a village and surrounded by fields, which, slowly but surely, were turned into housing developments themselves. I know people have to live somewhere but that little village out in the middle of nowhere is now swallowed up by the main town. I feel sorry for doggie people still there now, it used to be a great place for us!

Nope, he's just going to have to lump it.... we manage ok with the sheep on the other heath after all (it's absolutely mahoosive so we just stay on the other side from them and he's never turned a hair at them).

Apparently be there will gates, but walkers are reminded of their responsibility to keep dogs on a lead around livestock

Frankly, they can stuff it though, the enclosure they are making is huge so there'll be plenty of room for Henry and the ponies both.

It just annoyed me that they are making this big change to an area used by so many people, without any consultation at all that I can see
