Sometimes I wish I was back in the UK!
Need some Equest Pramox but can't buy it over here without a prescription from the vet and, this being Holland, they'll want to know how I know that I need this one. So that will mean i'll probably have to pay €30 for a worm test when i can see the bl**dy things in her droppings, on top of the extortionate price they'll charge for it.
To get 1 tube from the UK shipped over here is going to cost me £21.00!!!!!
Normally I order from the UK in bulk in advance and get it shipped to my parents house in the UK for me to collect on my visits. This time though, my little lady has caught me out.
She was worm tested at the end of December, 3 weeks after I got her and it came back clear. Then she badly cut her leg and has been stabled ever since. 2 days ago I noticed horrible thin red worms in her droppings. SHOCK, HORROR! I'm s**t hot when it comes to worm counts and worming because of the lack of good grazing over here. First time in over 10 years any of my horses have had worms.
If I have to pay, I have to pay. I won't skimp when it comes to my horses' health but there is such a thing as taking advantage of a situation. ( to put it politely!)
I've e-mailed them to ask why the costs are so expensive when I get much bigger and heavier parcels including supplements for much cheaper P&P costs. Hopefully they'll reply quickly as I need to worm her asap. If they don't I'll ring the vet and see if they'll sell me 1 tube without the need for a text.
And breath.....rant over
