RANT! Think I've been conned buying horse feed?! CONSTANTLY CHANGING PRICES!!

My 1 horse needs conditioning/ weight gain feeds (thankfully other is a good doer!) and is currently on;
conditioning cubes (I travel to get these to save £2 per bag compared to local man)
alfa a oil (from local man costs £12-£14 depending on day lol)
comp mix (from local man cost £19 something in Nov for 2 bags then £22 something in Dec)
sugarbeet (from local man)

Now I understand prices vary etc but before the second big freeze I was delivered 'equibeet' instead of my usual shreds, not impressed as no warning or even a text to ask if this was ok, thankfully I'd got plenty of shreda left to make the change gradual.
Am told by a friend he may bring an alternative if hes not got what I want in stock, fair enough.

Have just found his price list and he's charged me £1.60 more than the equibeet on the list- he's charged me the more expensive sugarbeet I actually ordered!!!

This is the same person who I'll text an order to, explain I have a £3 voucher off a food and guess what?...The feed was £3 more expensive than last time so I've still paid the same amount!


AAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or is it just me?
 
Get a quote before ordering, pref by text or email so you have proof if you need to query anything. Feed prices are still rising, the price of wheat, barley etc is the highest its been for years and another price rise is expected this month. We buy loads of poultry feed and have been told it will go up £16/t this month so i'm sure this will extend to horse feed too. It is a bummer but at least the farmers are getting a better price.
The rise is actually due to the stock market 'future's' traders and is not farmer led.
 
When he quotes is he including delivery or only adding it on after? He certainly seems to be offering lousy customer service and if it was me I would confront him
 
The prices for all feeds have shot up, we use oat feed for our poor doers and the price on that has more than doubled, as it is used in most commercial feeds this then affects the prices of those. Our feed merchant makes his own feed, he was telling me that they haven't increased the prices of their feeds for about 5 years because 'as something goes up something else comes down' and it all balances. They are now having quite major increases across the board. If you don't trust your supplier then I would be looking for another one, you feel as though you are being ripped off (and you may be), everything is expensive enough!

Sersiouly I wouldn't stand for that we all stuggle to keep our horses and high feed bills don't help but to change price daily!!!! No no I would tell him why I'm not going to use him anymore and go to a better shop.
