I've had one of my ponies up for sale for a couple of months now, we've had lots of questions and enquiries (which is great) but what I CAN NOT stand is when people say they'd like to come and view him and then don't turn up or don't reply when you give the address, what's the point!!! They act so keen and interested, even saying 'please let me know if someone else wants to come see him before saturday' and then they ignore you!!

I need to sell pony due to lack of space and time that he deserves, but this is driving me crazy!

When i was trying to sell my horse I had lots of people not turn up or cancel late the day before. She was also advertised as 'NOT NOVICE RIDE' and yet i had several nervous young girls turn up (when their parents had rung up and arranged everything not mentioning the horse was for a nervous teen)!!

I can't tell you how many times I've waited for someone to come and look around my livery yard even when they've phoned and arranged a time etc. I got to the stage where I actually started to thing that maybe some sort of accident was befalling them. Made me paranoid really, until I just started to accept that people are that rude. . . . Unless I come across some pit filled with hapless horsey folk.

That is annoying im sure (never sold a horse) but what i hate most is when you say your leaving your house to come view a horse and by the time you get to the yard its sold! Waste!

However if that haddnt happened to me i wouldnt have my Sonny :D
(was supposed to be getting a 16.2 black mare cob x tb got a 16.1 chestnut full tb!)

I don't think it is just in the horseworld TBH. When we were selling the family home after my dad died, people coming to view were in several cases, just out for a Sunday afternoon jaunt and/or to simply have a nosey. Mum overheard one man complain to his wife that the garden was too big - well it was clearly stated in the advert that it was an acre of mixed lawn, veg and flowers. Di**head.

I always make a repeated point of asking them to "please call me or text me if you are not coming" and repeat it two or three times.

It is bloody anoying though - I try to think of each caller as a waste of time - that way you are never disappointed!

Its a bit like selling a house or a car, you will always get the people who are all excited and they NEVER buy, its the one that turns up, spends 10 mins riding and looks peed off that will buy!

I feel your pain. Had several no shows for my daughter's pony when she was up for sale and then another 4 people who did view decided she was too small despite being advertised as 11.2 and being quite a deep girthed and stocky 11.2!! Drove me mad, but we found the most perfect home possible eventually so think positive and don't take it personally, their rudeness reflects badly on them, not you or your horse.
