RANT! Was I out of order? *livery yard people advice please*

thing is it's not even like they were asking to borrow him for an hours ride, they want your horse for a 2 week camp, in otherwords you wouldn't really see your horse over that time, you certainly wouldn't be able to ride for them 2 weeks. i would never dream of asking to borrow someones horse for something like that, in fact i wouldn't ask to borrow a horse at all. you did the right thing in saying no and the person who asked should have accepted your answer, end of!
 
well done!, make a resolution to put your needs first, unless you can genuinely help sometimes, i think you have done exactly the right thing!, you are making progress with your horse and the last thing you need is this, having the horse messed around by other people.

if you ever let others ride him make sure you are there to supervise the work he does,.

i think you have done the responsible thing here and should keep on practising expressing your own opinion, you are entitled!
