I hope this question has not been asked too many times but I dis search it first and not much came up, so my question is "do raspberry leaves help with the muscles required to deliver a foal". My mare is due in early august and I want her to have as much help as I can, so are they worth feeding to help with the birth. I read that you feed it during the last 6/8 weeks of pregnancy.

I also read that they help with the cleansing after the birth and aid muscle to go back to their original shape if you continue to feed it for one week after birth, is this true ? Or would I be wasting my money.

That is where I first read about them and was just wondering whether they actually did help, and if anyone had used them and thought that they aided their mares in the delivery and then the recovery of foaling.

This is my first foal as I have never before had a mare that I wanted to breed from before, she is an older mare but very healthy but I would like to try and help her as much as possible. It has been a big learning curve for me has there as been so much to learn and read up on but sometimes other peoples experiences are more helpful than books lol:D

A woman at my yard gave her older mare them in the last couple of weeks of pregnacy and she had a very easy birth bless her x.

my mare goes mad for raspberrys and raspberry leaves - esp when in season - when i asked about it appreas they are v good for all females for hormonal issues and birth etc.... alas OH heard that and tried to get me eating them
