Yesterday I found what I think was rat poison in my stable. I have taken it out and swilled the floor, however, can anyone recommend a product I can use to completely get rid of it? I'm worried there might be some residue on the rubber matting and she might lick it or eat something off it. While I'm on, does anyone know the symptoms of rat poisoning in horses? Just so I can keep an eye out

Thanks

Was it in a bag? I don't think your horse will come to any harm if she does lick the mat especially if you have washed it down, our vet said if the farm dogs ate a bag of the cut wheat rat bait it would hardly have any effect so i wouldn't worry about her. Different poisons will have different effects, ie nervous system, circulatory system. As a breed we horse owners worry way too much!!

Thanks, no it wasn't in a bag but she doesn't seem to be suffering any ill effects so far. I found cat poo in the same corner this morning so I hope the cats haven't eaten any of it, although I moved it there may have been a few crystals left over.

I have to worry about something ha ha
