So meet Dolly Dot, my first horse.

She was extremely cheap / rescued from some gypsies. All i know of her is she is 5 (so say) and may have had a foal..

What do you think of her? I think she is bum high and hey bellied and she is in the first stages of training so has no muscle tone yet ect.
She is a happy hack only, we don't do any shows ect.

Be nice if anyone has any tips to help her confirmation though! and that belly makes saddle/girth fit impossible!

Also feel free to share your horses & ponies and see what everyone thinks..

thanks ::D

she looks lovely :) very clean :) and she has lovely markings :) i can see her making a nice little show cob hogged and feathers clipped :) but her mane and feathers suit her so either way she'd look great x

Its hilarious isnt it?!
she has curly tail and feathers too.. sometimes i think with a good afro comb and some sort of gel it would look like a really well done perm!

How sure of her age are you?
How lovely she is.
Hope you two have lots of fun together.

Not sure at all. it says 5 in her rather dodgy looking hand written passport..

ive no doubt she was a gypsy horse, she was a state when i got her but had her 1 month now and she's better.. on a diet and trying to start losing her belly..

Its the bum hight bit and lack of knowledge that makes me think she seems younger? what do you think?

Some horses are built being 'bum high' and they never grow out of it, it is referred to as being downhill so I wouldn't use that factor to determine her age.
The lack of knowledge also can't help to indicate her age much, if she hasn't seen or done much in the past then she will be inexperienced regardless of whether she is 3 or 30.

The best way to check is to look at her teeth and age her that way to see if it correlates with the passport.

Oh ok thank you, Yea i do know some never lose the downhill build, i don't mind so much.

I had the vet out to do a complete examination of her and she said her teeth are perfect and i told the vet it says she's 5. She didn't say anything to disagree with the age so maybe its accurate.
