Hope someone has had this issue. I have the Ifor Williams HB505 Classic ( Black in colour) trailer which will be 8 years old now. Very rarely used and I bought it from new from dealer. But since buying it has always had this rattling noise to which I always put down to either the middle pole rattling, or the breast bars hitting off the side when travelling or maybe even the back doors. But on a couple of occasions I have taken everything out of the trailer and it still makes the noise. Not so much when on the road, but if I go over a bump or an uneven bit of road, this rattling noise happens. It actually sounds like something is loose - at first I thought it was maybe the top doors rattling because its something hitting off of something - rather than say a stone rattling somewhere. Called the Ifor Williams dealer today but they cannot look at it for another 4 weeks.

It could be the top of the tow bar that lifts up when you unhitch. Obviously it can't lift up unless you pull the catch back, but there is possibly some play there. Could be a bit of bounce in the jockey wheel too, maybe?

My IW rattles a bit on rough roads but it doesn't concern me because there's quite a few things I would expect to rattle when going on tracks and lanes :)

It could also be your tie rings that rattle against the sides. In fact everything in them seems to rattle as they are given a bit of leeway, none of the bars/partitions are so tight that they don't move a fraction if you think about it.

I use the 510 and its fabulous! Wouldnt say it rattled particuarly that I would notice. Have you somewhere off public roads where someone could drive and someone stand inside to try and pinpoint where the noise is coming from? Thats what I would do,obviously in a safe place where no-one is at risk.

Oh They all rattle Madam !!!! its the prehistoric but strong leaf springs!!!! however it is worth checking wheel nuts and having a good look at the bolts that hold important things on and have someone check your tow ball or hitch isnt worn... and make sure the ball and the grease nipples are lubed .. Hope that helps.....
