My "pack" of six have been on raw for a couple of years now and look great - brilliant white teeth just for starters!
However, I currently have a lab staying with me for a couple of nights and she happened to "steal" a small bone from one of my bags of raw from the butcher. She thoroughly enjoyed it, and I thought nothing more of it. (I never give raw or bones to any visiting dogs without their owners' consent, but in this case, she simply dived into a bag of raw on the kitchen floor and helped herself.)
Cutting a very long story short, next day, I had a call from my daughter (who was walking said visiting dog) to say that visiting dog had tried to "go" but the deposit was stuck.....OH, former charge nurse, had a look and was quite concerned, so I rushed her to the vet.
All fine now but "blockage" appears to be due to dog eating a bone!!! Vet told me not to feed bones to my dogs!
My dogs LOVE raw and bones - I've never had a problem!
Over to you lot on the Forum......anyone had problems with raw/bones?
