ive been feed 3 of my 6 natural instinct for a couple of months now and they look amazing:D Only thing is I am having to feed more than the recommended amount for all 3 dogs, hence it is more expensive than i originally thought.

id really like to to try and replicate what they are getting, but cheaper. Im reluctant to go back to buying meat from the butcher/chicken factory etc as we did years ago when we fed barf, i find it a hassle and also worry the diet isnt balanced.

so i was looking into other options - one is that someone local gets a big delivery of mince from durham animal feeds that i can tap into; other option is local shop does prize choice freeflow mince. And I see natures menu does a blend of frozen veg to add in. but why oh why are their ‘complete’ meals filled with rice  and at best 50% meat

any other options?

It is a fallacy that wild dogs don't eat cereals - they eat the contents of the digestive tracts of their prey which will include grains, fruits , roots & herbage.

50% rice is quite a lot but rice seems less likely to cause problems than alternatives.

Is there a greyhound track near you? The guy I buy from goes to race nights in his van and sells tripe, whole minced chicken, hearts, kidneys, oxtails, chicken carcasses etc, which I then decant into the NI tubs, naughty me :p
