Rawhide alternatives?

I d use a dog toothpaste instead of dental chew..most of these chews have side effects and aren’t really effective substitutes for teeth cleaning/ scaling routine.

I do brush her teeth everyday but I agree a lot of "dental chews" are just normal chews branded as dental to make them look better? One dental chew I was using by Pedigree is sugar free and low fat but goes right through Clover. She's got this toy with bristles on which she likes and would work better if I could put an edible ring in it but cannot find one

I agree with pedigree comment it's a lesson learnt. Would those from Waitrose be okay for a nearly 7 month old pup? Her adult teeth aren't fully in yet think it's another month before they'll be in properly
 
They still have some of the marrow on the bone she might just enjoy trying to eat that for now, the bone it's self might be a bit much at the moment but I don't think it will do much harm really, I use plaque off and just sprinkle it on there food it helps prevent plaque and softens what is there so it can be brushed off.

I have some from toys from kong, nylabone, trixie and rosewood but not the others so will look into those thank you. She doesn't chew much but when she does she really does get through them! Several toys I've given then had to throw away within 10 minutes, trial and error!

She loves soft toys but obviously they don't last long, finding a durable soft toy is my white whale

Another vote for a marrowbone from the butchers ?

Our vet recently said "I can see your mum brushes your teeth"....

Eh no. The marrow bones must be doing the trick!

I've brought two Orka products should come tomorrow they look promising thank you. She definitely chews her toys more now than she did when I first got her but definitely not as much as I thought she would, she chews them more when she's tired.

I will probably hold off on bones for now, she chipped one of her baby incisors which makes me wary of using harder stuff. I have got 6 of her baby teeth though which is a nice souvenir
 
I discovered Yakers recently and both of mine love them. They last well, are not messy, don't smell and are less hard on the teeth than bones or antlers.

The Himalayan yak chews? I've got some but haven't used them yet but they look good. The ones I've got say suitable from 4 months on but I'm just going to let her teeth come in a bit more

Her stomach is a bit sensitive to chicken, and peanut butter she only gets some in small quantities if at all. It's a shame as its a good source of protein

The yakers soften up as they chew. Ours both love them even my fussy boy. Ruby is a really tough chewer and she hasn't damaged her teeth on them. My husband saws them up into smaller pieces. I buy the big ones as better value.
My daughters dachie x jrt is a stong chewer and she is good with them too..I'm not sure the treats they do are good as high calorie and meant to be rewards so eaten quickly but the chews last a long time.

I did have antlers and they kept her occupied but I stopped them when her baby teeth started falling out and I don't think I will bring them back again after reading up on them a bit more, I've thrown them all out to avoid lazy temptation

I have but maybe for a stupid reason I've held off on getting them. Clover thinks she's a tree surgeon and outside in the park is always ripping branches off like she's getting paid to do it, so I thought I better not give her a taste to encourage it. Although maybe it will satisfy her craving for it? She won't carry anything she's broken off a branch in her mouth just leaves it on the ground and moves to the next one.
