I was just wondering whether anyone had heard of them or had any experience of them? I have just had the saddle fitter out to Grace, and this was the one that I felt fit both of us the best. It was really comfortable and Grace's shoulder really opened up and she was moving very nicely underneath it.

Thanks,

it is actually Symonds (or Symmonds - not sure of spelling). Ray has been in business for many years and is the saddler my old instructor chose to make up saddles to his (the trainer) own designs.

At one point I had both a dressage and a GP made by Ray and currently have a jump saddle he made. All were beautifully made and have fitted my horses very well. Not a particularly "well known" brand but I know he uses good quality materials and is quite picky about the leather he will use.

I had a beautiful Symonds pony showing saddle, excellent quality and the sort of soft leather that you want to touch (OK, so I'm weird like that)

When I advertised it I had dozens of people phoning me and every single one said that they were hard to find because they were so good. I'd put it on for double what I paid for it and the buyer didn't raise a murmur about what I considered an extortionate price for a tiny, used saddle. It should be numbered, stamped and probably have a plate screwed onto it somewhere as well, every one that I've seen has had makers ID all over them, makes them very easy to identify.

If it fits and you and Grace are happy, go for it.

Aghhh... that is why I couldn't find any info about them!

I am just trying a lovely dressage saddle on Grace at the moment. I have it for a week to see whether it is 100% right for her, but first impressions were very good today. It looked great and was so comfortable!
