Hi All,
this email came into me today - we have donated already so if you can help I think these guys would much appreciate any goodwill.....
To whom it may concern.
I have recently won a prestigious competition with Vodafone which is allowing me to work for my favorite charity for three months and receive a wage for doing so.
I am trying to create as much publicity surrounding this competition as I am a local girl and my chosen charity is such a worthy cause.
The charity I have chosen is the RDA Millers Nook Riding School for the disabled in Bolton. Kath Miller (the owner) has run the centre for four years now and I believe she deserves some recognition and much needed help for the difference she makes to so many lives.
I am writing to you to ask for help. The centre itself is struggling as we were forced to close due to the snow and ice; as a result no money has been coming in as no lessons have been taking place.
I am not asking for money or grand gestures all we simply need is anything you may have to spare. We are pretty much in need of everything. From rugs to wheelbarrows, grooming equipment, feed, tack and schooling equipment.
We would be happy to accept anything you have to offer. If you do not wish to donate anything new then things that have been returned or unsold or even damaged goods would make a huge difference to this charity.
In March 2009 Millers Nook was targeted by thieves who stole £30,000 worth of specialized equipment. It has taken a lot of dedication and good will of the public to rebuild and recover from this awful incident, however times are incredibly hard at the moment and we are struggling to keep our 26 horses warm and fed.
If you would like to check out the charity you can find us on the RDA North West Millers Nook website and other sources such as crime watch and in the Bolton evening news.
I would very much like to make a World of Difference to my charity, However I believe the only way I can do so is to help provide Kath with equipment she is so desperately in need of. I am asking you to search your hearts to help keep this fantastic riding school going, by doing so you will be contributing to so many disabled childrens happiness. In return all I have to offer is publicity. As a result of the competition I have access to many newspapers and local press which I will be more than willing to include you in as thanks for any donations you are willing to make.
Thank You.
