Re-backing an older mare

My mare is 14, and ive had her for roughly 2 and a half years now. She was used as a broodmare before i got her but she was backed before.
Ive lunged and longreined her before and shes gradually got less nervous. Id like to start rebacking her but im still undecided on whether or not to do it
Shes a lovely mare and the most i would want to do with her would be walk/trot and possibly some hacking if i could get her used to cars (have walked her inhand on roads before and if a car comes too close to her she panics and starts rearing)
Do you think its worth trying to reback her and does anybody know of any ponies that have been restarted at her sort of age?
Also shes a 14.1hh welsh cob, what would you say her weight limit for a rider is?

Yes why not! My friends 13 year old Sec D was backed last year after weaning her first foal. They had her professionally done but havent done anything with her since....

Lol! If i do back her it will be done at home, shes still not confident with everyone just people she knows well

I was given a Cleveland Bay brood mare last year. She was then 11 years and as far as the owner knew, she had never been ridden. (She bought her as a 4 year old in foal)
She lunged like a pro, never minded the tack but when we went to mount her she was very nervous - fine once you got on but very nervous about being mounted.
I am fairly sure that someone had an accident when mounting her. She got over it and she is now with a friend and hunting regularly.
