After a week of correspondance we have finally agreed that the item sold to me through ebay was incorrectly described and I have asked for a refund afterwhich I will return item. I have even offered to pay for the postage out of goodwill at my expense (must be mad!)
However the seller won't refund me until she recieves the item.
What do I do from here, do I contact ebay?
Just to recap I was the winning bid on a kk training bit and recieved a fake sprenger with hooks on the rings (used for gag cheeks). See earlier post
Help guys!

Psst, see sticky at the top of the forum, admin aren't happy about the number of non-horsey posts in here. Take it to the SB!!

Well I bought this item in good faith so I have contacted paypal so hopefully we will be able to resolve the matter.
If I had bought the wrong size or misread the items description I would probably have complied but the fact is the item was a fake sprenger bit and not even the one in the description!
Thanks for your help everyone

If you have opened the PayPal dispute then follow PayPal's terms exactly. They will ask you to return the item (at your expense) and you should make sure that you do this recorded/signed for unless it was over £32 in which case send it Special delivery. PayPal will then refund you.

It is normal to return the goods and then to receive the refund - but make sure you follow PayPal's rules.

It is standard practice on Ebay to refund when the item has been returned to the seller. To refund prior to return would be ludicrous. It is always down to the buyer to pay the return postage & you must send it back by 'tracable means' i.e. signed for delivery. That way you can prove return. The payment would then be returned to you probably via Paypal if Paypal was the method of payment you used.

For advice about refunds, not as described, etc it is better to go to their forum & get best information there:
