OK, I hope no-one's sick of me keep popping up now and then, but here's the latest info - and probobly the last, because it looks to me like the taxi driver's never going to be punished properly.
As a last ditch attempt to do something, I've started a petition online - type in ipetitions and search for 'we want driving ban for pony killer'. I hope you will find it, as I am not having much luck publicising it.
Basically, we're trying to get his cab licence revoked, if not an actual driving ban.
Now the (underhand) court hearing has been and gone, I can release more details: his name is Paul Chequer and his company is Chequer Cabs, operating in Bridgwater, Somerset.
I won't go into the personal details of what I'm told caused the 'incident', but everyone who lives in our area of Bridgwater will know.
Now it's up to locals to decide whether to patronise his company, or whether they'd rather eat gravel.

I read some of your previous posts and was horrified by what this man did. I'm so sorry to hear that it doesn't appear to have been treated fairly in court. It might at least have given you some "closure" if it had.

If I lived in your area, I'd definitely boycott the company, and make sure everyone knew why. I hope lots of people do just that.

I'd like to thank everyone who has sent me private messages. I'm trying to reply to you, but I'll have to resort to my admin assistant and internet buff, Honeymum (who also happens to be my daughter).

Have you a facebook page. That seems to generate real momentum with these things. If you do, link it here and I will forward it to the local horse group. 4,000 people in that!

I will vote now. Just to say first thing I noticed is the date is wrong, 2nd June 2012.. so possibly an edit :) Just telling you in case you had not seen. It might confuse some.

Ta for that - yes, Honeymum made a mistake (not surprised as she has had concussion recently, and not even from anything as exciting as a riding accident).
