So my mates horsebox caught fire about a month ago, whilst she was driving back from dressage.

It has now been written off, so she is now needing to get it re tested to get it back on the road.

Does anyone know who we go about this??
the lorry is fine by the way, we just lost the living! lol

If it has been written off surely it becomes the proerty of the insurance company? this is what happened to my box which was stolen and then found.

if it has been written off, and the insurance company has paid out for it, then it now belongs to them allthough your friend can buy it back. I am assuming that the damage is repairable? It would then need to be repaired and inspected by a DVLA approved mechanic before it can go back on the road.

[/ QUOTE ] No dosent need anything but a mot !! if the insurance wrote it off.. IE uneconomical to repair and the owner bought it back or had a reduced pay out.. the only check is for cars that are cat c damaged then you have a identy check from VOSA before they will issue a V5C (reg doc)
