Micah has been at Leahurst for 9 days sent there for RF hopping lameness
some of you clever folk pointed out he was also lame on his RH. A weakness I had been aware of but not an actual lameness
Anyway it is PSD in the RH. RF did show up but even when pushed didn't show as much as it did on the video so if its still there later after some physio will address it then
Plan is to box rest for 6wks with walks out, shock wave x3 wedge heels as his heels are low (currently barefoot) and then re scan if no better surgery.
I will also see about using magnetic boots, just have to ask if they could interfere with shock wave therapy??
The theory is it has been caused by a combination of
ever so slightly straight hocks (apparently not bad enough on their own to cause it)
low heels
too much work on a surface as I haven't been able to hack much due to my repetitive surgery
I am a firm believer that if possible he will not be turned out until he has started cantering under saddle, but will have to see how it goes
\on the plus side two of the vets have told me he is one of the loveliest, most well mannered horses they have EVER had the pleasure of having. both on the ground and under saddle
But can I fetch him back now because he is missing his mom
