This is Boots today, Sorry the pics arnt great but you get the general idea. Shes got a thick coat, i can just feel her ribs through her coat and she was warm at the base of her ears, although not as warm as she was yesterday.

How do you think she looks?

It might just be her coat but she looks very "well" to me. Pardon me if I am wrong but is she in foal or just a good doer? She doesnt look in need of a rug to me, but I rug my hairy fat one as I am a softie.

Thanks Moodymare.
Misst, i hope shes not in foal! lol. Shes 17 months old now. Yes i think that shes looking very well too, im not sure how thats happened tho as i havn't been feeding her hard feed yeh so im suprised that she hasnt dropped weight atall, i was talking to my mum today and wonder if the other people who i field share with have been feeding her again. I had words with them in the summer about feeding her and not telling me about it. But maybe shes just going to be a good dooer.

Glad that im not seeing thing tho and you agree that she looks well lol.

My 3 yr old looks very similar! Can feel her ribs just running your hand over them with no pressure but has a belly! I'm keeping her warm and she's pretty much on ad lib hay now though, don't feel that this is the weather for maintaining weight by restricting hay and rugs. Every horse is different though and when I'm used to a fit tb it's a struggle to see that belly every day!!

Bless her LOL:D Send her my apologies:p Glad she is so easy to keep though! Could she be eating someone elses feed? My 2yo eats my mares if he can get away with it. She chases him off and then when she has made her point she lets him share her bucket. He has more than her to start with but eats quicker and always "helps" her when he has finished.

Shes probly not steeling anyone elses food but it is likely that the other people at the field are feeding her for me - they never tell me that they have though! So im pretty clueless aboutt he whole thing. Shes looking rather too well to have not been getting any feed tho! I shall be asking them and growing eyes in the back of my head too...
