I am horrified to have just had this thought >>

Thinking how scammer txter got my new phone number , only people with my new number are close friends and family and 3 job applications I have recently applied for ???!!!!!

Sent my CV with covering letter / email , so have now thought that a lot of job vacancy adverts etc , maybe some are scams, on my CV as with a lot of people ,

it has my name , age , dob , address , postcode , work details , salary details , email address and telephone number !!

My new telephone number !!!

I spoke to someone at the jobcentre re a vacancy they had posted a while ago on their website and it seemed to be a scam , and i was horrified to learn that advertisers/ employers placing adverts on jobcentre website and in jobcentre dont have to pay ???!!! and they arent exactly checked or verified ??!!!

so i am thinking maybe certain pieces of my CV could be edited to be without ALL of my personal details ???

if potential employers take my appl further they can ask me whatever else they require . ??

. xxxx

No they don't have to pay to advertise in the job centre. Not sure about being verified.

You could put your area and mobile number on your CV, and employers can ask you for more... that seems like a good idea.

I thought that was pretty bad, I have always assumed that positions I have seen on jobcentre or in jobcentre must be legitimate

i would think i am quite sensilble but I know some people who have almost given out bank details when enquiring about a position as the "employer " asked my friend , oh , what bank do you bank with etc ???

so it just shows that when people think they are dealing with an authoritive figure / potential employer they may just give details out !!

im going to be very very closed form now , very sparse details on my cv !!!

xxxx

Perhaps its a good idea not to give your DOB - employers shouldnt really be considering that anyway for most jobs

If stating your age is important add it in years in to your personal statement eg 'I am an enthusiastic 25 year old...'
