Has anyone tried to re-proof turnout rugs at home? I'm going to try and do a light weight turn out rug myself, if I can patch the holes. What are the "do"s and "don't"s? What do you recommend to wash rug in? What products are best to re-proof? Spray on or wash in? Or just get it done professionally- if so, how much would you expect to pay with 2 4" tears on shoulders to be patched? Sorry about all the questions!

I used a paintbrush too!! I brought a bottle of the Car Day Martin rug re-proofer for about £7.00. It sayes on bottle that it reproofs 1 full size rug, but I stretched it to 2 x 6ft rugs by only applying it to the top parts of the rug and half way down the sides!!!.
