Friend has just asked me this and I’m just double checking I’m right.

Her horse missed a flu jab in 2017 up until then he was vaccinated on time
Because she wanted to compete she started again
Horse had flu jab in March then flu/tet may. She thinks she now waits for yearly booster but I’m sure she has to have 3rd to be covered.

the course to re start is 3 vaccinations. The first vaccination, then the second needs to be given 21 to 92 days (3 to 12 weeks) later. The third vaccination needs to be given 150 to 215 days (21 to 30 weeks) after the second and then booster vaccinations given annually.

Definitely needs the 3rd and then if she is going to go BD or BE the horse needs to have been vaccinated within 6 months of the event.

Thankyou, I’m sure this is what she was getting confused with. She has been told she can compete after 2nd so she presumed didn’t need a 3rd.

Alot of places say 7 days after the booster or after the 2nd vaccination. Best to check with each venue for their rulings though.
