Herman had his KC vacc (the one up the nose) last Monday. Yesterday morning, he woke us up (he sleeps in a crate in our room) by making a bizarre snorty, snuffly noise - sounded like a cross between an asthma attack and an oinky pig.
He was fine and went back to sleep straight away (unlike OH and I, who laid there waiting for him to breathe his last) but all yesterday he was a bit :meh: and was quite happy not to go out, which is unlike him - we ended up not taking him out till half 7 (pm) but once we got to where we walk he had a whale of a time. It helped that his 2 bestest mates joined him there but no snuffling at all. He had a couple of snuffly moments during the day - normally when he's just done something 'strenuous' like running down the stairs or after barking.
So this morning he woke us up again (5am, thanks puppy) and OH got up to let him out the crate - he wouldn't come although if it isn't Herman's Getting Up Time then he won't get out of bed any earlier than he has to. He did come out eventually but did it again as he came out then came and curled up on the bed with me :badmother: He did it a couple of times while on the bed and they seemed to frighten him - he is a mummys boy and will come for cuddles if he's scared or unsure and he cuddled himself more into me, am as sure as I can be he wasn;t reacting to me reacting to him :dizzy: as I was almost asleep again by that point
So we've got up and he's now fast asleep on my foot - normally even if we've got up earlier he's waiting patiently for demanding his walk by now. Am unsure whether to take him for his walk even! He's been out for a wee but like I said, is asleep now - unlike him!
Vet job or has anyone else had anything like this? Have read that dogs can react to a Kennel Cough vacc by developing KC but not sure this is - he isn't coughing. I had the bright idea of recording him doing it but obviously he hasn't done it since. I'm almost tempted to take him to the vets anyway, but he gets superstressed there since he was neutered (wimp) so would rather avoid it if I can...
Please cross your fingers though it's nothing infectious/awful for him - he's going into kennels on Saturday night as I'm off to Muse I'm staying with my friend - selfishly I'm really excited about this gig and I'll be beyond gutted if he's poorly and I can't go.
Argh! I don't know what to do! He comes to work with me so I can at least keep and eye (and ear) on him all day.
