Reaction to microchip??

Oh dear its all going pear shaped...
Yard owner just called to say yearling has a big lump on her neck where she was microchipped last week. I bathed her on the weekend and didn't see anything but haven't been up since so it must have come up after the past few days. Going to see her tonight and will try give the vet a ring but is this fairly common? If I remember right Molly had a tiny lump for a couple days after but apparently Bonita's is quite big and sore.

Don't know if its common but it happened to my mare last month, she was really sore with it too, vet ended up putting her on a course of anti biotics as she thought it was possibly an abscess developing, anyway, shes fine now

It can swell a bit but a big lump I'd be speaking to the vet.

Had a look on fri and its not that big, I think YO was being a little on the over cautious side! It looks like a big fly bite, keeping an eye on it and if it gets any bigger I'll call the vet out. It isn't hot and as long as you don't touch it too hard she doesn't mind you putting your hand on it. Quite relieved, I was expecting to get to the yard to be confronted by an 'elephant' neck!
