My friend has asked me to post this as she's not a forum member. The yard owner at their place had sprayed some strip grazing but not told them, and until they found out, 3 horses were grazed on it for about half an hour a time, 5 times max. Subsequently 2 of the three have cracked and swollen lips and one also has an ulcer on his lip. If it matters, the 2 that have reacted are Icelandics. The third, a TB I think, has had no reaction.
The weedkiller was Touchdown, active ingredient is Glyphosate. Normally this is considered safe but she was wondering if this could have caused the reaction. No other symptoms, both fit and strong. My other thought was it could just be a reaction to the few sunny days we had last week, but neither have done this before.
Any ideas? I think they are healing and don't think it's done any real damage, but any experiences to share with them would be appreciated
