OK why is on a yard that you have one so,so who is convinced that her advise and self opinionated ideas will be better than anyone elses.........I am fed up to the back teeth of it.......get told you do this and you should not do that and why you put that on and why did you buy that........last night was close to having a broom ramed into her month sideways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If anybody ask for my help or advise then it is given as "You could give that a try, but ,it's up to you " The way I view it _OC's-_ world alot of owning horse's is about common sense, and what might work for one, might not for another. I have been around horse's alot of years and I mean alot, this little madam was not even born before I got on my first pony! I am finding it hard to keep my temper had to grab my tack last night before I threw it at her............. I know I should ignore her and raise above her.......difficult! Sorry massive rant over, I'll go back in my shell and shut up for the rest of the day!

oh dear i know exactley how you feel but at the end of the day who knows their horses better than their owners just say that to her it will shut her up! Or just develop a hearing disorder and pretend you cant hear her lol!

yup - theres on on our yard - I normally avoid her as she is only usually up in morning, but she was there last night... I despise this woman, she drives to the yard drunk (like last night) doesnt have a clue about what to do but is very vocal of her opinions no matter how wrong they are...

She is also expecting to borrow a saddle off me so her daughter can ride her new horse (exracer with a bad leg they got free who should get a year off but they are getting on him next week) so she got told to bugger off by me....

Only good thing is when she is there I am all done and away home in record time....

I know how you feel too. We had a "witch" on our yard who always stuck her nose in and when she did it to me I didnt stand for it like everyone else. Good thing now is shes left (not coz of me!) but apparently shes been moved off several more yards due to her "know it all" attitude and winding everyone else up on the yard! Its so much nicer without her.

This is why i've never been on a livery yard quite well i have just private ones, keep it with a friend that has a yard if you can,i've managed to do this since i started riding and it's worked well.I could never keep my mare on a yard with loads of bitchiness,i have my horse for stress relief (well that was the idea, although she's caused me a lot of stress!) i couldn't put up with that,i go to the yard to get away from it all,it would drive me up the wall and i'd probably end up doing something i'd regret if anyone started telling me what to do with my horse,a lady of my parents owned a yard i was at for years and the minute she started getting too oppinionated i was out of there, like a flash. She didn't have a clue and got very annoying.

You should try my Dad's technique for blanking out my Mum's nagging...it involves an iPod (or anything similar).
If you don't feel like listening to music, that's fine....as long as you keep the earpiece/s in and don't respond to her, she'll never know

I try and not nag, or give unwanted advice, or if I do I always start with a, "have you ever thought of". There are always people who have been there longer, or think they are the law on horses. I had a gripe this week when I was trying to change something on my saddle so had the light on and a person came in and turned it off, so I just decided to use daylight which meant sitting in the doorway. I then came back to find one of my jackets rammed down behind someone elses tack boxes!!! If it was who I assume it was, it was very VERY childish as she is an adult! She has also almost ran over one of the girls cos she was angry at her.

I have my broom at the ready to stick in her big fat gob!!!!!!!!!

.............I just want a quiet evening without her throwing her remarks around........not much to ask is it!

its that sort of person that makes me loathe to offer any advice whatsoever, so no-one can think im a busybody, but i just had to last week when a novice rider (a few lessons) was trying to tack up a pony for the first time ever - luckily he said thank god you were here, not mind your own business, but generally i keep my mouth shut
