What an awful morning, the kids pony has been sold and they've just collected him. I know it was the best for him but it doesn't make it any easier does it?

He was such a loving pony but they had both lost interest and he was stuck in a field not doing much, at least now I know he's going to have lots of fun teaching a little boy how to ride, getting lots of love and cuddles and going to shows etc. Been in tears since they viewed him last night but trying to be positive.

On the upside I am going to look at a Dales mare in the morning primarily for me, yet still small and hopefully sensible enough that the kids won't be scared if they decide to have another go. :)

I know what its like, my adored mare is going out on loan ..... to a brilliant home with a girl who just loves her and when they ride you can just see what fun they are having together .... but I still feel like ridiculously sentimental about losing her and will miss her so much!

It’s so hard, I cried for days when we sold my pony. However it now sounds like it’s time for you to enjoy your riding, so fingers crossed it all works out with the Dales! :D

Well, I feel like this about the prospect of having to loanmy daughter's pony out. She is already out on loan to the most perfect family (and from a most unpromising start) and I am dreading her return from them. They say they'll keep her for ever, but realistically... I can't let go. It's terrible and very restricting!
