If I wasn't sworn off alcohol for the foreseeable future, I'd be drowning it right now I think!
It's seriously been one thing after the other.
I got stuck in a bog last night trying to rescue a colt who had gotten trapped on the other side...I went to rescue it, chose what I thought was the shallowest part of it....turned out it's bottomless! So there I sank to my thighs and still sinking and had to shout and get pulled out myself. [The fence had broken which is how colt got in and downpour last night had just turned the ground to bog.] So then got pulled out, then had to run round to the neighbouring field, take the fence down that side to get said colt back out.
In the pitch black.
To then be followed by this morning to find one of the bigger horses up in the pens had decided to have a party overnight - cue 3 broken pens with 3 loose horses who has literally upturned the barn inside out. All the tools are smashed, everything was everywhere, ALL the feed had been gobbled and spilt everywhere and just was general carnage really.
I'm on my own atm so I had to somehow by myself rebuild 3 pens, move a huge round bale of hay by myself [as the one open which had been dragged down was just...trashed. Along with a big straw bale too.]
I'd like to say I felt Like Xena doing all the above...but in truth, I felt *******!!!!
So finally got the barn sorted out and all's back to peace and serenity.
So got back....to have a nice quick ride on my horse [which was ruined last night with the bog-incident]. To find the colts had all itched their bums on the temporary fencing and bought that down too. GAH.
So off I went, and moved them all up to the top field instead. All 20 odd of them on my own.
And here I am. Still with a sodding broken nose which is now starting to look a little wonky at the top - just to finish it off!
Contemplating having a very very large Disoranno......but I won't. I won't I won't I won't.
GAH.
How have all yours day been? Hopefully better than mine!!!
