ok, my mare thats been for sale for ages(allergic one who i dont get on with) went for vetting today, (was hopefully going to do an exchange for a lovely tb gelding) and she is 1/10ths lame on off fore, cant believe it, she looks ok to me and feels fine, but obviouusly isnt. vet said he would come back next week, but dont think will be any different, she was 1/10s lame 4 weeks ago, and i thought she looked better, so dont see another week making any difference.

so fed up, just want to curl up in a ball and cry, have been through so much stress with this horse, and it just seems to be never ending, sorry for the miserable post, but beginning to feel a little helpless about the whole situation, am running out of options

Ive been where you are and its awful!

Trying to sell a horse that I really didnt get on with, I wouldnt even ride it, seemed to have her advertised for ages and just getting timewasters, or worse, people not showing up!

It got to the point where I hated going up the yard, couldnt get another horse until she had sold and it just wasnt happening!

In the end I sold her for almost half what I wanted because I wanted a good home for her but wasnt prepared to wait any longer for more money. I missed a whole summers riding and now she has gone.

~It just feels like there is no light at the end of the tunnel doesnt it.

Can I ask where you have her advertised?

I put mine on H&H, ad trader, horsemart, Horse Deals, nothing!

Put her on Horsequest and she sold to the first person!
Would def recommend them!
 
Hi, just wanted to say that I was in a similar situation a few months ago. I had a horse which I didn't really get on with and decided to sell. He then started biting seriously and just when I thought he was sold, some people were so keen that they even brought their trailor with them even knowing about the biting, he developed a new trick and started bucking and doing enormous kicks when being dismounted. Had his back checked, saddle checked, blood tests taken etc, nothing. I finally sold him to a lovely lady but lost about £2k having advertised him as "open to offers to the right home". I decided that I would rather lose money on him than carry on with all the stress.

I too was pretty despairing and cried on many people's shoulders. He was costing me £500 a month livery for a horse I didn't want to ride which I could only just afford and I couldn't see a way out. Unfortunately it does mean that I can't afford another horse as I am still paying off the loan I got to buy him but at least my livery bills have gone and I know that he is in a good home.

I really hope that things work out for you as it is a truly awful trapped feeling.
