I won a pair of pikeur socks nearly 2 years ago and they've only just gone into the bin. Outlasted many, many other pairs that have been eaten by my wellies.

Are there any other brands with padded heels to resist wellie wear?

Otherwise I need to hunt down the exact same type as the ones I am now mourning..... (& Pikeur seems to not do that version any more)

I'm constantly looking for socks that fit - that don't have big baggy feet! I had a couple of pairs of LeMeiux kneelength that were brilliant I wore them to death, ordered some more and they were awful, no heel turned in at all, just long tubes, is that normal?
Today I have Ariat long socks on, the feet are so sloppy.

Thinking of trying some from Amazon

I can't stand the Le Mieux socks! Can't get anything underneath them and I like to wear mine over jods but I find I can't with these - like you say - long tubes!

I have several pairs from The Mountain Warehouse that have lasted really well. Although the last two pairs were somehow different and not as comfy so I havent worn them to say if they still last as well. Ive had some for years and i rip the heel area out of all my socks.

If you're finding the feet big, could you get away with wearing youth-sized socks? I have skinny, short legs and smallish feet, and I've found ladies riding socks too big on the feet and too long on the leg, so I've bought some youth/teen sized socks for size three to five feet, and they fit perfectly. My favourite ones are a pair of Smartwool ski socks, but I have some other makes too. The Woof Wear bamboo socks have been great for summer.

I'm a size 6.5 so think I might struggle with 3-5 but I could try
I'm also a 6.5 and wear the small (3-5.5) version of woof wear bamboo socks, the size up = baggy heels which I hate.

SEL how warm do you want them? heat holders do some with reinforced heels/toes

Not boot socks but I got several pairs of feetures socks (which at £15 a pair was very expensive) over 10 years ago and they are still completely intact although they don’t look new anymore. 😂 I have bought some new ones so will see if they last as long.

I haven’t found any socks that stand up to my work boots though. I’ve worn the heels of all. Toggi is a complete waste of time for boots.

I go through socks within weeks, these have been some of the best, they are lighter weight socks but they stay up, wash/wear well

I'm in long socks and jods everyday because of work and usually I wear the heels or go through the toes in weeks but i bought some of these and the cat ones they do and they have lasted me a few months so far.

Falke. You will wince at the price but these people know how to make a good sock that’s very comfy, doesn’t move and has cushioning in the right places - just don’t let the dog near them!!!

I have several pairs of the cool horse socks, I like the patterns they do and the foot is comfy as it is padded. They have lasted really well, sadly just had to bin two pairs this week after noticing they were bald on the bottom of my heel! They are a good 3-4yrs old though to be fair! Got a pair of Ariat socks and they only lasted a year! Shame as they were lovely and very comfy. I also have hot togs socks for winter.

Off to look at cool horse socks.

I've got nice thick ones for wellies for winter but it isn't really the weather for them yet. My in laws got me 3 quite expensive pairs back in Feb and they barely lasted the summer.

Bridgedale. The old standard.
This this this. I wont wear anything else for hiking and anything long distance. Bought a pair of MH socks and Tresspass socks and my feet ached (hiking).

I dont want to hijack but if anyone knows of any boot socks that dont get holes in them super quickly, I am all ears. Seems I only wear them a few times ans they've got holes at the toes. I dont let my toenails grow to claw length....so not sure what is going on!!

I love the Woof-Wear riding socks. They have a padded foot, similar to the Cotswolds ones, but a thinner leg (tall ones) so you can fit them in riding boots. They do them in long or short, I find them very comfy and so far, they've worn well.
