Sorry, totally pointless post but I have just ridden the big lad (18hh ID) and he was a star. I felt like i had hit a bit of a brick wall with him last week and was getting really frustrated.
I took him for a gallop on fri as hes an ex hunt horse so convinced myself that he misses having a good burst so we went and had some fun, not sure if it actually related but his canter work today was in a whole new league.
It could of course just be the fact that im understanding him a whole lot better now and hes getting used to being schooled but i like to think he needs regular gallops!
I have to post about it because typically there was no one on the yard too see it!!
