I am taking my 6yr old to his 2nd ever outing so a little excited & nervous. Few weeks ago he went on his first outing to a fun ride & was a little star despite us both hitting the deck.

Anyway tomorrow we are off to a show 15 mins down the road so my friend said I can go in her trailer to take him along. Apprently it's a big busy show so shall be good for him to go. I am not competing as my friend is doing the big classes so I will off missed the small ones so the plan is to do a couple of clear rounds & just ride him around,

I am mainly taking him for the experience & get him used to going to a show with another horse, but splitting away from it & doing our own thing as don't want him to think when we go somewhere with my friend he is going to stay with her horse the whole time.

So I am feeling a little excited, but slightly nervous to :o. I just hope the weather is good, anyone else got anything planned :)

I think it's a really good idea taking a horse to a show just for the atmosphere. I don't think enough people do it. It will allow you to learn so much about each other without the pressure of competing.

Good luck

I do think it is good manners to pay for a class if you take your horse with no intention of competing, if you don't do the clear round though.:
