So I've ensured my new boy with KBIS and on the medical history I put down that he had previously had a hoof abscess. When the docs came through there was an exclusion for hoof abscesses. I sent them an email to ask if I could challenge it because it seemed a bit extreme given that most abcesses are the result of wound that becomes infected and they sent me a nice email to tell me they'd taken the exclusion off for me :)

Now clearly it would have been better if they hadn't put it on in the first place, but very impressed by the good customer service sorting it out. I always expect insurance companies to be dreadful, so a pleasant surprise! :)

I've been impressed with them as well, I moved to them from NFU last year. When I got my documents they had excluded colic  I explained that George had just had a case of gassy colic 2 years previously. They double checked with my vet and within 48hrs I had new documents with the exclusion removed.

Unfortunately George has recently been diagnosed with RAO and KBIS have been brilliant and so quick paying out for his endoscopy, inhalers etc. :)

This is good to hear. The mare I have on loan is with KBIS and I'm in the process of a huge ongoing claim for a field wound she sustained a couple of weeks ago.

Hope both your poorly ponies get better soon and that KBIS treat you well.

I nearly didn't post the thread but then I thought I'd be very quick to post if they'd done something bad, so I should also be prepared to post when they're nice.

Well done KBIS I say - and they were cheaper than the others too :)
