Really mild bit

Currently in a JP loose ring single joint snaffle and trainer thinks this is too much for her when she's jumping

What would be milder? A French-link version? Horse likes the curved mouthpiece and I wish JP did a plastic-covered one.
 
jeffries do a lovely mild snaffle called the Ky Rotary double jointed snaffle. It swivels on both sides so that you can control each rein independently. We use it on young horses and thorse with really soft mouths.
 
My old mare used to go well in a losse ring rubber snaffle (the rubber was flexible and bendy) and she had a super soft mouth and I jumped/hacked/schooled her in this bit and she went well. I think it is about the mildest bit you can get lol

I'm surprised at that....curved single jointed bits are pretty mild. Plastic and rubber can be good but I always think they must be very dry in the Horses mouth and the plastic ones quickly become sharp if your horse chews on it. I use a Sprenger bit that is curved and double jointed. Quite pricey but a great bit and very mild, the aurigan metal is good. This is it here..

WE have used a neu shceule (thats not spelt right!) team up snaffle, thats super gentle, my old mare has a myler comfort snaffle, that has a curved mouthpiece and a barrel in the middle to the sides act independently. If you wanted to stick with a JP a french link would normaly be deemed as more gentle.
 
My old mare had a myler comfort snaffle. Not the cheapest but they are ported to allow for the tongue and also has a roller and is double jointed.

Sorry - just saw HoneyMonster has discussed it above. my mare had such a soft mouth I never managed to get a contact on it!

This is the bit that I have two horses in, and I cant fault it, dont know what I would do without it now, they are different horses! Otherwise one of those flexible rubber snaffles, the ones which you can bend in half, might be good.
 
I posted somewhere else about this but as an experiment i laid a french link over my arm and pulled. It really, really hurt. I thought they were mild but there is no way I will put one of those in my horse's mouth again.
